In the spring of 2014, I attended the Joint Aquatic Science Meeting in Portland, OR. The conference was a success; I learned a lot, made a lot of new friends, and met a lot of old friends. But the real draw was the beauty of the surrounding area. Portland is an absolutely beautiful and progressive city with an amazing countryside. We also took a road trip up to Mt. Rainier!
